Lorne Kalisky, President, CEO & Founder| Lorne Kalisky founded Vican Trading in 2004. His mission was to develop a successful trading company, reflecting only the best competitive and professional qualities of the scrap metal industry. Before Vican, Lorne spent 11 years working as a metals trader with two of Canada’s leading processors and brokers. Prior to that, he established a successful wound care management business which he eventually sold to a public company. |
Joel Stutman, Operations Manager| Joel has been with Vican Trading since it’s inception. Joel’s responsibility at Vican Trading is to oversee all aspects of transportation including the management of the scheduling, transport documentation, issuance of purchase orders and invoicing. Prior to joining Vican Trading, Joel was an account executive in the Industrial Equipment industry. |
Debbie Pollack, Comptroller| Debbie has been with Vican Trading since its inception. Debbie is responsible for managing Vican’s day to day accounting operations. Prior to joining Vican, Debbie worked as a trader and logistics manager in the frozen fruit and vegetable industry. Debbie received her MBA at Mcgill University in 1989. |
Adam Krupp, Account Manager| Adam has been with Vican Trading since 2004. Adam’s responsibility includes constant surveying of the global recycled markets to make markets with suppliers and customers. Adam is responsible for managing client relationships and to ensure that every step of the client’s experience with Vican is managed effectively and seamlessly. Prior to joining Vican Trading, Adam was with Royal Bank of Canada where he obtained valuable client relationship experience handling high net worth and corporate accounts. |
Jean Al-Khoury, Account Manager| Jean joined the Vican team as a broker in January of 2011. Prior to that, Jean acquired his knowledge by working in recycled metal yards and trading ferrous and non-ferrous since 2008. Jean worked in Puerto Rico for over two years and speaks fluent Spanish. Jean’s experience has allowed him to specialize in the South American and the Caribbean market. In addition to Spanish, he fluently speaks French, Arabic and English. |
Tania Zhong, Account Manager| Tania joined the Vican team in July, 2010 and is based in China Office. A Graduate of the Wuhan University of Science and Technology she graduated with a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Art(Foreign Language). Her current role at Vican is to oversee its relations with its China based customers in both marketing and sales. She previously worked for Nanhai Investment Promotion Bureau in Foshan as an interpreter and project manager. Her previous experience as an interpreter during the opening ceremony of the HSBC Global Service Center as well as to Nanhai leaders for projects like Groen Brothers Aviation, IBM, Fujitsu etc will help Vican in its ongoing business in the Chinese Markets. Tania is recently engaged with a 2011 wedding. |
Ken Billingsley, Logistics Coordinator| Ken is responsible for all truck and rail domestic transport. Ken has 40 years of experience in the recycled metals industry. Ken brings valuable experience to the Vican Trading team from sorting scrap in the yard to truck driver to general manager of the fifth largest scrap recycling company in Canada. |
